ORIGINS OF BLIND RELEASE:
My father, a former Marine and avid reader, went totally blind in his early sixties and made extensive use of Talking Books Service of Perkins School for the Blind (Watertown, MA), my brother Jim served near/on many Pacific islands in WW II and I spent a year in Korea. I used some tales told around the table over the years, known data/history, and imagination to generate the story.
